I have a 75 gallon FOWLR with 2 canister filters and a HOB filter and one of the guy's at my LFS told me its best to run all Bio-balls and sponge, and eliminate the carbon because its not good in the tank, I'm asking the opinions of you guy's about this.
You will probably find opinions all over the place on this. In 40 years of saltwater fishkeeping I have never used carbon except when it was specifically needed to clear something from the water. Others, equally or more successful than I, run carbon all the time.
I have gone with and without for years... the only thing that I think it helps with is gelstab.
I would, however, convert to HOB filtration and get rid of the canisters, but that is just my opinion and way of doing things.
