Rust and water conditions?

ok tonight i was doing some major cleaning rearaging the LR and found that a razor blade had fallen into my tank apparently some time ago it's covered in rust obviously as well as what looks to be greenish black crystalized "stuff" my question is this could this cause any ill effects on my tank such as nitrates or alkaline spike or would this be minute at best and nothing to worry about?

The rust shouldn't cause any nitrate or alkaline spikes, but there is a chance that it could be releasing toxic metals into the water. But if everything has been fine to this point, I wouldn't worry about it, but I would try to get it out of the tank if possible.

yeah i removed it straight away i'm glad it more than likely won't affect my tank and everything has been fine so i think im in the clear now
