Good idea. All that yellow stuff in the water would have eventually settled but you wouldn't want that crap in your tank. The rinsing should take about an hour.

hey guys, i did have to take ALL the water out and take All 80 lbs of sand out and rinse it. but im glad i did. i rinsed the sand for about 30 minutes. i didint rinse for an hour cuz in taking it all out when we go on vacation. it looks so much clearer and nit ugly YELLOW. will post pics in about an hour

Oscars and especially pacu will not be a good choice, these guys get way too big.
This tank has lots of vertical no horizontal swimming space.
You could do lots of little fish with live plants and some cured tree root. Lots of small Amazonian fish with color. :happyfish

do you have any reccomendations? i dont really want chiclids cuz of there aggresion, but they are beautiful.

Looking better! The water looks less yellow, but heck I'm color blind anyway so what do I know!

cichlids. Demasoni are cool but very agressive. Yellow Labs, Red Zebras, Cobalt Blue Zebras, go to cichlidforum.com, they have very good info and pictures of cichlids.
