I see that you live in the Cinncinatti area and I was wondering if you knew of any good places for fish in the Columbus area. I moved here a little while ago and I see I am limited to two places to get salt fish. Your photography is very well done. I would love to do that some day. Also I tried to email you with these questions, but it didn't seem to work. Thank you for any informations that you might have.

Hello there-
I hate to tell you but, I haven't got a clue as to what's available around Columbus. That's close to 2hrs from me. We have a lot more than 2 places around here for saltwater stuff.
Sorry I can't be of more help. Thanks for the compliment. :)

Byerly's is the best place in Columbus. They tend to have better quality, much better prices, and more knowledgable staff. (But if you go on a week night, don't plan on them being much help) Unfortunately, an older guy works then and he is usually grumpy! ; )
There is also aquarium adventure. Except for LR and maybe supplies, I generally avoid this place like the plague. The staff is unfriendly and I have never seen more ridiculous prices. Mushrooms can be close to $100.
There is also a Jack's that is decent near 161 and Cleveland. THey have a nice coral selection and good quality, but not a lot of supplies. Most of the other Jack's should stop carrying saltwater. they place the fish in tiny boxes.
Hope that helps

Thanks everyone for the replies. I found out about Byerlys a week ago, they do have a much better selection than aquarium adv. I couldn't believe that aquarium adventure wants 9.99 for figi live rock. They want 100 for a black perc too. I came from Minnesota and there were many fish stores to choose from, here i am kind of limited. I might take a drive to Dayton some time to check out that fish store, what is its name. Thanks again.

There is one store in dayton called gerber aquariums (saltwaterwarehouse on web) on dryden rd. (exit 50b on I 75) and another one on miamisburg - centerville rd. I like the one @ miamisburg. They open only on weekends.
HTH.

gerber, very nice (on dryden rd.)
aquariums etc. (in centerville) downsized a while back and last time i went it was a joke. the staff is also rude and not very knowledgable.
