Although I have no experience with mollies, with other brackish fish, usually it is done over the course of a week. Like taking a fish out of hypo.

If they're free you have nothing to lose. Just toss them in.

This is my gut feeling as well, but the slower acclimation process would be the "right way to do it".

I raised the salinity daily quite a bit, sailfins survived and bred, the black mollies died.

In the olden days they used to cycles sw tanks with mollies and when the mollies survived it was time for other sw fish.
