Sailfin Tang Question

I just traded my insane hawkfish for a Sailfin Tang from my LFS and my friend there said it would be fine in my 40 gallon but I am starting to have second thoughts because of other sources on the internet. Can anyone tell me if it will be ok or not? It eats the algae and shrimp that i throw in but I don't want him to suffer in the tank if it's like a prison cell for him lol
Thanks

Yeah sorry :(
He's gunna grow to 16" and need a much bigger tank, that sucks, they're really cool fish but if he's in a tank that small for long he'll probably get sick or get really territorial and bring the rest of your tank down with him.
I bought one too, and ended up getting a whole new system for him because I like him so much.

ok lol that is what I thought. Yeah he is really cool but unfortunately I cannot buy a bigger tank right now no matter how badly I want to. Do you have any ideas of what I should get? All i have is 3 green chromies besides the sailor.

Do you like clowns? I really like my false perc pair, they're interesting to watch, and less aggressive than some clowns. Do you have any coral? A dwarf angel is nice (I like my coral beauty) but some aren't safe with corals or clams. Very colourful tho.

I have thought about getting some clowns but it seems like when people think of a salt water tank they think of clowns and I wanted to kind of move away from that I guess lol. Are coral beauties nice to have? they look very colorful. And I kind of have coral, but only a small mushroom (I'm just starting)
