Well check your phosphate levels. I would invest in a RO unit. It will save you money. I bought mine for $200 and it has already saved me that in past 3 months I have had it.
Personally the faster you can get rid of that canister filter you have the better. Those things are a trate nightmare. Set up a nice sized sump. Hell a 30 gallon with a good skimmer and fuge would do wonders for your tank.
In the mean time turn your lights back on for a few hours a day. Check your RO water from Wal mart. Test it for everything. How much live rock do you have?
yeah im getting a 5stage ro/di unit soon. im only using the canister for flow its filled with lr rubble.im actually getting a 225rr this weekend and im make a sump/fuge out of a 75g and getting a reef octopus 300 or 350 but it wont be setup till prolly august or sept.the 225 will take the place of the 120.oh and i have 300+lbs of lr in the 120 currently
