Salifert OMG *&$^*%^%^$

ARGH.....Just tried to use a Silicate and Calcium test from Salifert. )*&^

^*&*())&*^$
Are they kidding, you have to spin around, stand on one foot, point 1 finger in the air (guess which one) use 2 timers and multiple syringes, 5 dropsf rom bottle A, wait, 5 drops from bottle B, wait, swish, swirl, level scoop of this and then wait even longer......D'ho.....I feel very stupid

yeah lol but once u use them a few times u dont even read the directions i know all of my salifer test kits how many drops of each how many scoops lol and so on they are very reliable test kits ull like them!

ok well choose a few colors of crayong name one good one bad and one in the middle then everytime u wanna test calcium pick one outta hat and it will tell u how ur tanks doing

Both are pretty easy I think... but the first time I used them I was also flustered. You will get used to them!!

I started feeling kinda brave and decided to try the KH/Alk test, opened the box and looked inside, saw all the bottles and syringes and promptly closed it back up and put it away. Maybe tomorrow.........LOL.....

I use salifert too...and I agree they are complicated...especially the cal or phosphate...cant remember which one...but you have to add like 12 ml of water or something and it goes all the way to the top and then they tell you to shake it!!1 UNGH

I agree! A couple of the Saliferts you use only 1 mL of water to test and it barely covers the bottom of the container, now how the heck am I gonna tell what color it turns?!?!?!??!

But I do agree that they are acurate!

I never found the Salifert Calcium test to be complicated.Its relatively easy IMHO. Nothing higher than what ...a few drops of one component to count out, so that makes it better for us illiterate types.
I only find Saliferts to be what I consider overly expensive as compared to the others.
