No one is saying to buy Salifer, if that is going to change your mind about salifer then change kits. although i cannot guarantee that they'll be 100% accurate or as accurate.. if you got a bad dropper then all you have to do is brake off the tip and draw two drops with a 1mil sirynge and "presto". Also you can re-check with the same lame test kit. here's how: you do the High resolution testing first, and then you recheck with a Low testing resolution..wha-lla..
Now that dropper still useble, all you have to do is shake the Kh-ind dropping bottle, then open the bottle, then tip it upside down, then slowly start squeezing, now sometimes you may get an air bubble coming out of the bottle when dropping.. this air bubble doesn't count as a Drop.
It's not the Chemist's fault its the people that are working for him..
the chemist already did his part on coming out with a accurate test kit like salifer..this test has been proven and tryed for years in labs.. now if some new employees (batch makers, dropper makers) are making mistakes that's a different story..

Actually, a representative from Salifert is finding that several of the Alk tests out there seem to be testing high for some reason. I myself will be doing my own test with my Salifert test, then take that same water to my lfs and have them test it. I'm then going to report my findings to the Salifert rep. So, it looks like Salifert is trying to find out what the problem is, and even though the droppers may have some issues it's not the entire story. There doesn't seem to be any issues with their other tests, only the Alk test. So I would recomend that if you want to test for Alk get a different test, or back it up with a second one until Salifert has had a chance to get this problem resolved.

I purchased my kits from another site and they have already issued me a refund on the alk kits, I don't think they would be doing this unless they were aware of the problem and it's one of the major online sites...
