Sally attacking Clarkie

got krabs

I have lost 4 of 6 fish in the past 2 weeks and thought it had been because of a parasite; which i still think that it may have caused 3 deaths BUT: last week I treated what seemed to be ich (KICK-ICH) that is invert,reef safe and it seemed my perc was acting a little strange hanging out in the back at the bottom of the tank under rocks when the that day I came home it was gone. (maybe he was toofar gone?) I turned the lights off and 1 hour later turned them back on and there was my sally chewing on the perc. Which at that point I figured it had died and the clean up crew were doing thier job
Now the past 2 days I've been watching very close to see whats going on ;
When I feed silversides the sally will actually go to the sabae and steal the food that the Clarckie has fed it. But it seems that he has been attacking the clarckie because of the fresh wounds on the fish that would remind you of claw marks. The sallis about 3-1/2 to 4inches wdie where the clark is about 2 1/2 inches long.
Does this seem logical to you?

I don't have any fish in my tank, yet, but I do have a sally. I posted this a few days ago. I witnessed my sally pull two red hermits out of their shells and eat them. My sally is also pretty large, 4" from leg tip to leg tip.

I've seen Sally's attack many different fish before. Doesn't seem to uncommon with these crabs from what I've read and seen.

Larger sally's will eat fish if they can catch them. I think your fish died in that case and the sally just rummaged around for it. usually the fish are smart enough to stay away. You might try handing your sally a meaty piece of food to munch on before you feed your anemone... hopefully he'll be too busy to steal food away then.
