I was reading some information about my peppermint shrimp, and it stated that iodine was required for proper molting. So I was wondering whether I could simply use table salt as a source of iodine. I was thinking of adding a couple tablespoons of salt to my next 10 gallon water change. Of course I will still use the aquarium grade salt, but will it be ok to add a little table salt for iodine? thanks for any response

I don't think that would work very well, but I can't say for sure. The iodine in table salt is usually bonded to potassium or sodium atoms, and is probably usesless to your shrimp.
Also, it's usually recommended to not add anything to your tank that you don't test for.
