Has anyone ever used Kent salt and lost most if not all your fish? At the prompting of the owner of a lfs I switched from instant ocean to Kent, and wtih in three water changes over the next month and a half all the fish except one (yellow coris) died.
They all displayed the same symptoms, a white slime covering them from head to tail.
Once they showed this they died within 48hrs.
I have since switched back to I.O. but am still upset at the over $200 in fish that died and the fact that they all had to die due to my own stupidity. Thanks

I do not use a salt mix, I buy salt water from my fish store. I tried mixing my own, what a pain. And it is really not that expensive, I would only save $15 per 50gl after buying the mix and good quality water. Then still have to haul water home and mix it. But I can tell you that my fish store uses Kent.
