Salt Build up on Lights

Quick question....

I run 2 65w PC's in a hood over my tank and Im getting some salt build up on my bulbs from evap. Should I clean this off? (I imagine its dulling my lights). How do I clean the crust off w/o messing up the bulb?

I use a wet rag (water) and wipe them down ever couple weeks.
