Salt creep on lights

I built my own PC lighting system to fit under my canopy and it hangs about 4" from the waters surface. I don't have a cover above the water (other than protection around the edges so the livestock can't get out). There is also no cover on the bottom edge of the reflectors. My problem is that I get salt build up on the PC's from the water agitation.
Is there something I can do to minimize this or is it just something I have to put up with? I heard that any type of clear cover will block some of the light.

How much agitation do you have in your tank? I have plenty of surface movement and i have no salt on my lights that are only 4" from the surface

It's not that much, but I have a couple of fluidized bed filters and a couple of skimmers that dump water, which usually has a few air bubbles associated with them. So, that's what is causing the salt build up.

why dont u just buy a thin peice of plexy and place it under your light.. i mean anything is a obstruction of light wave lenght (even air) but i really think the effect of a thin peice of plexy changeing your light wave is so minimal it dont even matter... unless u dont mind the salt/water/air/ carroding eat away $$
