I didn't notice this but should have. Two things: temp here is 72.9 is that correct? AND alk is at 3.0, is that in meq/L or dKH? If its in meq/L that would be acceptable (recommended 2.5-4 meq/L) or dKH which would be low (recommended at 7-11 dKH)?

Temp, remember this is makeup water not display water. I noticed the temp was low so i raised it....its a crappy heater, none submersible hang on the side kind.
3.0 meq/l, i tested this twice because my previous test i tested 3.50. I couldn't understand why the difference.
Going to test next batch to see what happens. Would be great if someone else would start up or follow up.

I love the IO reef crystals. My levels all stay great. I recently tried the red sea coral pro, and I think I may switch to it. Levels are the same as IO crytals, but it dissolves so much easier and faster.
ca-420
mag-1250
alk 200
ph 8.2
sg 1.026
temp 79.4
Also, it seems like I am already getting better polyp extension from my sps corals after only two days with the red sea after a water change(30 gallons)

cool, do you use anything to raise your alk? 2meq/l seems low.
I got a price for reef crystals at my lfs today. He only sells a few, said he use to sell most everything but stop because people wouldn't buy it cause of price. he only sells IO, Oceanic, Seachems salt.

I think a lot of people are finding that they are unhappy with this salt.

Here's what I know...
Ca 350
Alk (on the high end, can't remember reading)
Temp 79
SG 1.025
PH 8.4
Salt TM
What's a good calcium additive? My calcium has always been 400-450... but the last two weeks it's dropped to 350-400. I'd like to have the ease of mind knowing it was back at the 450 range. I've never used anything besides water changes and kent superbuffer occasionally. What do you recommend?

Does your range for cal from batch to batch(bucket to bucket), or does it range like that on every water change using the same batch?

It stays pretty consistent, but with the API test kit each drop is 20ppm. My color change starts at 21 drops and finishes completely at 22 drops. So I am just guessing at exactly where ca. is at within that range. I am not too worried about it since those numbers are not bad.
