when you add salt mix to the water for an water change will it take out all of the harmful trace ellements inside of it liek chlorine and that stuff???? (I am using tap water not ro/di)

You have to use a declorinater. To take out trace elements of chlorine chloromine and metals. Then add salt to it let mix for 24 hours then do your water change.

Chlorine will disapate after sitting for awhile, however, many water treatment plants are now using chloramine in addition to or instead of chlorine and this does not disapate, you have to remove it. So either contact your local water company or get a water conditioner that says it removes both. Better safe than :mad:

You dont have to treat distilled or RO water.
If your going to use tap water your opening yourself up to algea outbrake not all water will but most will. It is phosphates in your water. You need to test your water for phosphates and such to make sure it wont raise or lower your params in your tank.
