No you have to wait if it is going into a tank that is set up. if you are just starting a tank adding it right away is ok, not preferred but ok.
Newly mixed salt must be stabilized and that is done by:
adding desired amount of salt to RO water (1/2 cup to 1 gallon water)
place a heater in the container
place a power head in same container to mix the water
in 24 hrs. check the water fortemp, s.g. and adjust if needed

Thank I was mixing the salt leting it set for 20 min then adding it . Using distelled water Just order Ro/di filter.

so when you put it in you tank it is as similar as the water you have in their.

When doing a water change you want the specific gravity of the salt water the same and also the temp. the same as the display.
