If you go to "certain" pet stores with an online printed page, they will honour the online price instore.
Thanks Cranberry. I have done that before also, and I checked their site ad before I purchased this time, but they didn't have it on sale either.
I don't know what the deal is. I tried a google search on salt price increases, but all I came up with is "road salt", which has doubled in price as well. I don't know if the two are related, but looking at that search, there are a lot of cities and towns in a crunch right now because of road salt cost going way up as well. A lot of highway maintenance dept's have cut back their orders for this year, so they better hope we don't have a bad winter.

What's up with salt prices lately....

I ordered a few 5 gal. buckets online back in April and paid $31.99 with free shipping. Just placed another order, same thing (Reef Crystals 5 gal. bucket) and it's now $46.99
plus shipping on top of that. Checked around first, but it looks like it's gone up everywhere.
You're still paying less than I am and this is Reef Crystals not Tropic Marin or the other expensive brands! Most places online are cheaper but you have to pay more for shipping because it's a heavier item.
If you belong to a reef club sometimes you can get a discount for ordering in bulk.
