Salt, Which, Why and Where?

Who said anything about the beach. I said ocean water not beach water. Is it a matter of cost or having the best possible tank? JK
I am lucky living in florida. I can get fresh ocean water from the LFS. Its taken from miles off shore and put thru a UV to kill the bad stuff.

I get TM Pro to my door for 10 bucks shipping from ***********, I used to use coralife salt and like TM Pro alot better, My PH swings are gone now.
I think the regular TM is 50 (200g bucket) not including shipping.
TM Pro is 60 (200g bucket) not including shipping.
I really like TM Pro, My params are very stable now. Like i mentioned I had PH and alk issues w/coralife.

Most people either hate their salt and are changing, or they just changed and love their new mix. I wouldn't take anyones advise on the BEST salt, but would do lots of reserch and testing to determine which salt to use. Lots of people have poor water quality, change salts, and then guess what. Now they love the new salt when they should have been taking care of their tank to began with. IMO

I agree, everyone should go by enough of each to last a year & see what they lose the most corals to the decide. Don't bother looking at the thread or seeing what everybody has to say & tried.

excellent info everyone! It sounds like it's Tropic Marin Pro if you don't mind paying more with more consistant results. OR, IO at a much lower price, but adding cal. while watching and treating other numbers more often.......
