has any bought or tried to swtich them over. I'm about a month into tryin to acclimate a few over so i can put them into my big tank.
I put in three so far. One died right away.. one hid and jsut suprised me in that i have not seen him for a few days and he just came out to eat. SO i'll count that as a success. The third one was too small. He swam around but maybe he was in shock a little so didnt swim that fast.. either way, my saddleback clown grabbed a hold of him and drug him around the tank for a while. THe rest of the fish followed suit thinking my clown had food. Needless to say he didnt last long.
Ive got 4 others that i plan on intoruducing later on. THese are bigger.
Does anyone have any other stories?

They're brackish, put them in brackish they grow big and live long time...put them in saltwater and they die fast. Don't do it, they'll die and if they don't, they won't live long.

yeah, I wouldn't - when they get stressed they get sick and they're more than happy to share their diseases with your other fish.
They do fabulously in brackish tho :)

Platys are freshwater fish, so that might explain why you had some die fast.
When you say you are about a month into acclimating them over what do you mean? I started my first SW tank with mollies and I acclimated them for just a few hours and they did fine.
And I don't know what the other peoples' experiences with mollies are, but the ones I had in my first tank did fine in SW and didn't "die fast".

I had a silver lyretail molly survive in my saltwater tank for nearly a year and a half before she was crushed in a rockslide. I acclimated her over a 24 hour period though. I initially had 2 but they did not get along and one killed the other.

i bought one from my lps and the guy just dumped it from fresh water into brackish water. needless to say it didnt last long. i got another one and i have had it about 2 weeks now and it seems to be doing fine. i bought it in freshwater and came home and drip acclimated it for about 8 hrs.
