i have a 60 gal salt tank. it's a fish tank with live rock. reconfigured it about 4 months ago, to add more live rock and also to plumb in a little giant pump (to add circulation). tank also has 2 Mag drive pumps in the sump (for the skimmer and to retn water from the sump).
Tank is running very hot (81-83 degrees)
Trying to stay away from a chiller any other ideas of where the heat is coming from?

81F - 83F is in the ideal range for temp IMO.
When you added additional water flow you added more heat to the tank.
If you think you'll have trouble keeping it from overheating in the summer then add a small fan to blow across the water surface.

hope this is a way to respond to the replies- saw the replies to my heat build up prob. One of you mentioned that "80-83 degrees is the ideal temp for IMO"---what is IMO?

I think your fish will be ok under that temp but they'd probably be happier with cooler water. Adding fans, open top, cooler room might help.
