What your are going to want to do first and formost is to purchase a book, yes I'm serious.
The Conscientious marine aquariust by Fenner would be an excellent one to start with.
This will literally open up the whole world for you, and a ton of questions. I could give you the numbers you ask for, but having those numbers isn't knowing them. Many folks find starfish very difficult, I'd read more about those as well before even attempting one.

I agree with Thomas, The Conscientious marine aquarist by Fenner is a great book and is filled with outstanding info for a beginner. That being said, I hope you don’t plan on putting a Hippo Tang in a 35 gallon—it is way too small of an enclosure.
You need to do some research before you begin. Posting on a board is fine but you most definitely want to do some reading on your own and please don’t take advice from you LFS. Take it slow and don’t rush into it.

I would reccomend The New Marine Aquarium by Pelleta too. Great book with good all round info. READ before you jump in, it will save you time and more importantly money. Knowledge is first and foremost. Plan well first to do things once and do them right. Take it from a newbie it makes all the difference. Just my 2 cents.
