certain fish, inverts and corals are only available at certain times because of collection laws, etc.

not only that, but it is winter. it's tough to ship during winter.
they took about a year to get in some flasher wrasses though :) just put your email in and you should get notified when they get stuff in.

Well as we saw with the fish photograph contest, SWF is under new ownership as well. Give them a little time. They will be fully stocked again in no time.

Not only are some animals not caught during certain parts of the year, if they have the same vendors as I do, they let you know that they are limited to their supply as well during this time. Also, the chances of losing your shipment via airlines is higher than normal even though it ships as cargo. We just tend to stock up on what sells and available at the time.

Am I wrong? It looked that way to me. Maybe they just decided to spice things up?

I was looking forward to cyber Monday but didnt order anything because the things I wanted were not available. I had inquired about the restocking and was told they were getting stuff in, but I havent seen much yet. I love the stuff I've gotten from them, but not too much to order from at the moment, so I got some stuff elsewhere this time...mighta learned my lesson tho - we'll see.

Very nice! I was not aware of that. I had a store myself. I left it because I left my spouse. It is still running. Then you know how limited stock can be and how it sometimes comes in in poor quality. It is a tricky business.

Yes it is. I have learned to not order the 14 days before a major holiday like christmas or new years if I dont want to see my list of availability shorten or having to go through the process tracking down a lost shipment, calling to find out that they have no idea where it is at AT this time since most carriers do not use electronic tracking when it comes to cargo, and then having to drive to the airport when it does arrive, open up all the boxes that show up 2 to 3 days later to verify its contents, as the smell of perished livestock perfumes the cargo pickup area, sign off to the shipment and watch them dispose of those items dead or barely alive and make a claim and wait 3 to 4 weeks if not longer for the airlines to process your refund and then wait for the corporate to cut you a check all while you are out the amount of money you spent and you STILL dont have livestock and NOW, the chances of having your order filled are even slimmer because all other stores ordered theirs as well and the next shipment to the vendors wont arrive till after the holiday airline rush is over........what fun!!!!!!!

But you still bring home a paycheck, right? It's all part of "self employed". Bet you wouldn't have it any other way

SWF.com scales down a bit for the holidays. Not exactly the best time of year for live shipments to be received by the store or ship out either.
