My boyfriend is giving me his 30 gallon tank this weekend, and because I am obsessed and mentally challenged when it comes to thinking about money, I have decided to make a small reef.
Using a "sand calculator" that I found on the Internet, I have decided to use around 75 pounds of sand for a 5" DSB. I wanted to use 50 pounds of Southdown as well as 25 pounds of LS from swf.com.
So here are the questions:
1. There are 2 types of LS available on this website. Which would be better, the Premium Florida Keys LS, or the Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Argonite LS?
2. Should I wait until after the cycle is completed to add the LS, or should I add it immediately after the Southdown?
3. Will LS cloud the water as bad as Southdown? I remember waiting a week for sandstorm to settle in my 35 gallon tank.
Thanks ahead of time for the help. I have never had LS before, I had only used Southdown.
