So how would you clean it, in time it may get dingy(sp) looking right? I can't really tell from the pics, but if you didn't know any better does it look it should be there, or out of place? Just curious--sounds interesting. Thanks.

I'd rather have another closed loop over the Tunze's...Those things are just way too big for me.

I understand keeping up with detritus, with flow or manually. I was just curious if the piece itself gets a different look to it over time, does it become an eyesore? How do you keep it from becoming that? Like I said, just curious---what does it look like a year from now with all the crud maintained as best you can? Also like Beth said earlier---
So in order to prevent debris from seeping into the cracks around it in a tank you use silcone or something to seal it off?
I would think no matter how tight a fit you get, that could happen. How do you maintain that? Honestly this is all b/c I am very interested in this, but still have concerns/reservations.

Its going to look just like any other BB tank after time, covered with zoo's, ricordia, coraline.. The whole idea is to protect the bottom glass panel, nothing more.

What could happen?

I have about 2275 GPH in my 125 gallon reef but I was thinking about getting a wavemaker (I believe wavemaster makes them) to help make a more natural movement through the water. My question is this.... If you hook your powerheads to a wavemaker and it randomly turns them on and off are you getting enough GPH to keep everything happy?? Just curious, if the wavemaker has 2 powerheads off then you lose almost 600gph. So if htat is the case would I still be considered having 2275gph or 1675 gph??
Thanks.
Also does anyone have issues with thier maxijet 1200s making too much movement? I have 4 (plus one on my skimmer) but they seem to knock the crap out of my 8" colt coral even when placed 1 or 2 feet away and at a higher elevation in the tank.
Thanks

Small Time,
I've always had a zero nitrate reading. The only reason for the starboard is to get the rock off the glass. I just didn't feel comfortable with all that rock sitting on the glass.
Bot,
Like I said above. It will be covered with funs stuff over time just like any other BB tank
