sand and rock weight

can anyone tell me if when you add sand and rock to your tank (filled with water) does it add to the total weight or does it stay the same due to water displacement?

the rock and sand weigh more than water ( 1 cup filled with water weighs less than a cup filled with sand, rock weighing even more) so be prepared for the tank to weigh more depeding on how much you add.

if you are looking for a total weight on a tank.
add the # of rock
# of sand
gallons of water x 8
plus the tank and stand and it will give you a general idea of what a tank will weigh when full.
