Sand Density

Hello,
I would like to buy some sand to fill my fish tank. The tank measures 4 feet by 18 inches. I think I have calculated that I should buy about 60 pounds of sand for a 1-inch deep layer.
Does this sound right? Can anyone confirm or correct my calculations?
I am guessing sand is about 125 pounds per cubic foot.
Thanks!

My sand density reference is 1602 kg/m^3 (100 lb / cu.f.). So, that's 50 lb for a volume 48x18x1. You're in the ballpark.
