sand glass before spraying the back?

should i "rough" up my All Glass tank before i spray paint the back with some 600~800 wet dry sand paper? or just spray? i'm using black latex spray...

No, just spray it. Unless you are going for a specific look sanding it will only etch the glass and cause the scratches to show through. Scratches cannot be easily removed from glass. Also I wouldnt use latex, Id use enamel, its harder.

I always just wiped it with a dry cloth and sprayed with good results.

i would just clean it really good with and paint it with some latex paint.. that way if you dont like to look then you can peel it off nice and ez... but it might bubble hea and there.. aftehr a year or soo.. but you can probaly cut them out and dap paint in the area and fix them..

DO NOT SAND!
Never sand glass on a tank. Every little sand mark is a stress point. Sanding your tank could cause the tank to crack or shatter.
How do they cut glass? By putting a scratch or stress point across it.
