Sand... How Much?

I want to convert my 55 FO into Reef, how much sand should I have on the bottom?

My preference is 2 inches or a SSB=shallow sand bed. Others will say go for a DSB=Deep sand bed to get the best of denitrifiying benifits and filtration.
On a 55 your maybe talking about 60 or 80 pounds for 2 inches or at least 160+ pounds to make a 4 inch bed.

depends on what kind of fish u want and this and that and even sometimes this... I would say to play it safe and have four inches if u have the money. If not, put ur finger through and and measure to ur second index joint, lol, its a trick and it works...
