sand in wet/dry remove or not

After a year my wet/dry has built up about a 1/2 inch to 1 inch of sand in the sump part should i remove this or not

I would leave it. Looks like you have a ton of worms moving through it.

I would also leave it alone. My sump is accumulating sand, but does not have that much yet.

As long as it stays away from any pumps might be alright.
