Sand is getting gross

I feed my fish frozen brine shrimp mostly. I'm not sure if it's leftover food or what, but the sand is looking pretty nasty. What can I get that will take care of the problem quickly?

I'd like to save as much money as I can, got a wedding to pay for. I have snails, but they are too slow to keep up. Are hermit crabs a worthwile buy?

I have large hermits in my tank, cant keep snails with my puffers!
I am also getting ready to put some cleaner clams and conches in the tank.
So depends on what type of fish you have/plan to keep?
I had to get rid of my bursa trigger

He would go through crabs like no other!

I have a valentini puffer and gsm clown right now. Don't plan on adding any more fish in the near future. The puffer likes to stare down the turbo snails but has yet to try anything.

i have a 90 gallon f/o tank w/ snails and small hermit crabs. i have a hawkfish....what else could i get to help clean my sand....
