I'm going to be changing out the CC this weekend and putting in the tropical playsand. The bag was saturated when i bought it so I opened the bag and put it in an empty 200 gal. salt bucket to dry it out some before putting it in the tank. There is a fan on top of the bucket to circulate the air.
I checked on the progress this afternoon and mixed up the sand some. There was some dry chunks on top and the sand was still wet on the bottom. My question is, I noticed some hard chunks in the sand, some shells and what looked like CC. Should I sift this stuff out before putting it in the tank or does it matter.
