Sand sifting gobies are sifting through the sand for one reason - looking for food - amphipods and copepods. Some will not eat anything else and can be difficult to get to eat normal aquarium foods. What type of sand sifter is it and what are you feeding it? Do you have a live sand bed?
If you have a very course bed of shells/crush shells , it could have some stuck. They pick of the substrate and filter it through their gills. They really should only be kept in tanks with a fine sand substrate

im not shure what type it is.
i feed it and it takes small peices of silversides
i didnt use LS but have about 120lbs of live rock on a 3 inch aragoniite bed.
I have copeds all over my front glass they should also be in my sand bed also right making it a live sand bed right?

Is the aragonite a fine or course sand? Like mentioned above they are very finiky eaters and can be quite hard to feed, and will starve without the proper live substrate. My only suggestion would be try to get it eating well, a quality frozen food would be ideal. HTH
