Thanks! I'll probably go with the snails. Maybe a cuc if my LFS happens to have one. I want to avoid another starfish because my poor Fromia Star had enough issues acclimating. I named him gimp, lol

Sand sifter starfish need a much much much larger tank than 29 gallons because they will eat everything in your 29 gallon tank and starve to death. It takes around a year for a starfish to die of starvation. I've heard that sand-sifting cucumbers are poisonous and if it dies in your tank it will take everything els with it. Nassarius Snails are your best bet. A fighting Conch would be really great if you have a diatom problem. Good luck.

Orange Spot Goby
I have an orange spotted goby and it doesn't sift the sand at all, you need a diamond goby for that, they look almost exactly the same. The diamond is much harder to care for and in my opinion too big for a 29. I too would go with the nass. snails. Good luck.

Thanks for reminding me why I don't post here very often anymore. Just because your goby does not sift sand does not mean that none do.
I had one mystery wrasse that did not bother inverts or jump. The next one I bought killed four shrimp and them jumped from the tank.
Not all fish are the same, but most
orange spot gobies with sift the sand in search of food. They only require a 10 gallon tank. Best of luck!

Lets all remember that all fish and inverts have common traits but don't always do them. I have to second that cuc are a bad idea in a small tank as the amount of toxin they can release when stressed or die. I once had a sea apple who died in a 150 and it didn;t kill anything, but this is because he died a normal death and was not being harrassed, but if he was he would of let the toxin out to kill everything around him just to make sure that if he was going out he was taking the predator with him.
