sand sifters

What are some good sand sifters (fish or inverts) for a 35 gal tank? I just got back from vacation and my sand looked completely discusting covered in algae, I just added a 2nd powerhead and bought 2 fighting conchs (wasnt sure how many to get) hopefully that should help.
P.S. already had a sleeper goby but i heard it would need a much bigger tank so i got rid of it
Thanks

I got my diamond goby 3 days ago. Today is the first time i have seen him and half of the sand bed is clean. It is so fun watching him. Best tank investment yet.

Yep here is mine, the only issue is that he WILL rearange your substrate somewhat..... Good Luck with him he is one of my all time favorites too!!

the picture above this post looks like my orange spotted shrimpgoby... is that what he is? i was wondering because mine NEVER does anything with the sand he just chills. which makes me mad but whatever. i might trade him to my lfs for someone thats going to earn their keep.

In addition.....My little guy is nonstop cleaning and sifting my substrate. It is spotless ever since I got him about 6 months ago. Only other issue I forgot to say is that we takes a toll on your "Pod" population too.

I think from looking at the SWF list on the two, they look VERY much alike but with different habits.. My DBG is a non stop cleaner....

everything i have ordered from this site (fish, inverts, & coral) has been AWESOME. just make sure you drip acclimate for like 3+ hours and youll be good.

If I can add one final thing here... be careful with gobies. they are jumpers. If you're like me, I have a light standing ontop of my tank and that's it. Open air and I had two gobies jump, one being a orange spotted shrimp goby. I love gobies but I hate losing them because they jump.

My turbo snails really keep the algae down. I can see a "clean path" behind them as they graze through the algae. (But they are not as much fun as the diamond gobby!)

I know gobies are jumpers (and i have the same kind of light as you), i've had two golden headed sleepers and none have jumped (maybe i'm just lucky). Yes i have like 10-15 turbo snails and i even got one of the mexican turbo snails, they do a great job on the glass and rock but not so good on the sand

That's more the sleeper Goby, which I have:

They do put sand on my rocks and some of the corals, but he has a great personality and does a good job on the sand in my 125. My two girls would never let me get rid of him, so he's here to stay. With that said though, if he ever goes to fish heaven I'll probably replace him with a Diamond Goby.

Yes I actually went to my LFS to get some Nassarius snails but they dont have them (or really any snails). I liked my golden sleeper goby too, and he liked dumping sand on my GSP but he was still cool. I think i'm going to go with the diamond goby. i've always wanted one but i thought my tank was too small because i saw one in my LFS's 180 and it is huge, but everyone has told me it will be fine so i think im going to go with that. thanks everyone
