i was wondering if this would be a problem for a CC/LS combo.. i know that these are a concern for a DSB substrate... we have approx 1 to 1 1/2" of LS.. do you think that this is a good idea to stir up the sand or should i just stay with the fighting conch?

It is debatable. As with most, there are some that don't, sand sifting inverts - they will also eat the beneficial fauna that is in your bed. Some say add it, others will not advise it.
I will say I had one in my reef. Never experienced any problems with it eating all the goodies in the sand bed. I actually had an over abundance of pods and other creatures!
It is up to you!
