Sand sifting starfish

I have a 10g tank with live rock and some snails and 6 hermits. I bought a sand sifting starfish before i had read the post on here about them being not easy. Any advice on aiding and keeping the starfish alive and well and not hungry?

It will starve in a month. Give it back the the store and trade it in for something els. They need very very large tanks to survive.

yeah, sorry but CK's right - he'll eat all the beneficial critters in your tank and then die...under the sand...where you won't find him till everything in your tank turns belly up. Trade him back for something more suitable :) You could get a brittle star if you like stars, they will take meaty foods, just stay away from the green ones.
