Sandbed correct?

Since I don't have a digital camera I made this drawing to show what I have done. I originally had cc carib-sea aragonite but have taken out as much as I could and replaced it with southdown sand. The left side of the tank still has a layer of cc that I can't get out(since moving rocks & substrate has been tough with an eel lurking about). Let me know if this will work. Thanks

Looks good to me. I used both cc and sand in all of mine.

I tried to get all the cc out of the tank but the eel I have is more aggressive than I originally thought. The side that has the cc is the new home for the eel. Other than that is 6" of sand good enough even though I can only do it on one half of the tank? I have a 6" sand bed in my sump too.
