Hopefully I'm wrong.
I'm just tired of our representatives in the House and Senate representing everyone except the citizens of the US.
That stuff already happens through PAC's and such.
If Corporate media is allowed to promote or oppose candidates or issues there really isn't a case to prohibit other corporations from doing the same.
I really don't see a problem with this.

bang, you are right about the elected officials disclosing the monies that they receive.
i think this levels the playing field in many cases. union have been able to contribute money to campaigns but the corporations that they work for cant. (whom are owned by Americans) now who had the upper hand in political influence. maybe that is why GM and Chrysler have gone bankrupt, selfish union workers acting as leaches to the bloodline of the company.
well now the marketplace will control the companies role in America. companies will follow the markets values and moral standard if they want business.

Unions can't donate money directly either. All this ruling says is both unions and corporations can directly run adds for or against candidates or issues rather than having to "get around the law"

Neither of which are eligible voters and should not be able to contribute money or participate in politic. I've read the lame excuses of small LLC being being eligible b/c they are family owned and an extension of the person. What is the point of these corps? They are not people, they are protective devises. The only reason the LLC (or any corp) would contribute would be so the owner does not have to pay taxes on the contribution (a lesser form of tax evasion). A company (either for-profit or non-profit) should not be allowed in any politics (including lobbyists) as they are part of the problem. They are not people, and they are not acting on the best interest of the people, only the bottom line.

I favor no participation without being an eligible voter in the election you seek to donate time or money to but that isn't going to happen either.
As long as we have an unclean system I really prefer it this way. First off if you look at the finance reports the Republicans don't have the edge over Democrats people assume. In fact all these banks and wall street firms the Dems are proposing to hose over, the top 3 recipients of donations from their workers are Democrats. Now an evil corporation isn't going to force you to make a donation to a candidate but to think they aren't strongly suggesting who should be supported and that employees employees don't contribute based on that is foolish.
I like the fact it will be businesses and unions stepping out of the shadows rather than having some cute made up pac name running the ads.

Correct, but I can't believe anyone is claiming this is any sort of victory. No lobbies, no Pac money, no money from corporations, the circle needs to be broken and stop allowing these crooks in Washington D.C. to sell their votes to the highest bidder.
you know, I'd always thought you're position would be the majority view. But check this out...

That is suprising. I don't agree obviously, but being a moderate I can meet this half-way. Lets make our politicians wear their corporate sponsors on their clothes and follow the Nascar standard, the bigger the donation the bigger the sponsors patch. Yeah, I like that idea.

As silly as it seems I like that idea. I want to know who the politicians are in bed with.
