saying good bye

... I lost 4 erectus seahorses once when my nitrate filter clogged up, and when it began to run again it dumped bacteria into the tank (I know NOW, to purge the tube into a bucket, not the sump)...I was so bummed out, and too ashamed to go back to the breeder to replace them.

I must admit that sites like this one really helps. I have learned so much. My first grief with the LFS was when they told me a chocolate chip star was reef safe....I learned real fast to not ask the LFS for anymore advice. At another fish store, the guy was going through a book to answer my question, so LOL... I asked him if he sold that book.

I believe that spending money is part of the joy of being in this hobby. Or making money through breeding or frags. Its not that we love throwing money away, its just that once you reach a certain achievement level the enthusiastic hobbyist must strive for the next level. You have a great FO, so now its time to move to the next level and set up a reef. You're tank is doing great but how much better will it do with that new $300 skimmer. You're animals will do so much better if you just stop using tap and get that RO system. Why were we not happy with MHs and VHOs? We must have LEDs! We've had this great tank for a few yrs, now its time set up another one! LOL

Yep, and that's why I realized I need to get out of the hobby for a while. It's just too much to do, too much to maintain, and takes too much money to keep and buy new things. However, I have made plenty of friends in this hobby and I have had experiences that I would never wish to forget.

Can't put a price on that.
I think these sites help and hurt us at the same time. It's hard to keep up with the Jones's if you don't know what they're up to.
Budget, budget, budget.

I guess what I am trying to say also is that ya'll won't see a whole lot of me on here much either,... until I get funding for a classroom tank in a few years. I'll drop by every now and then to see how everything is going... I just need to concentrate on other things at the moment.

If anyone wants to stay in contact with me, my email is SnakeBlitz33@gmail.com

The best thing about writing is that you can pick it up at any time. I simply don't have the time to do proper research since my school studies are getting much more difficult.

.....true enough, you do have a full plate for right now. I wish you nothing but joy and success, no matter where life takes you.

Drop in from time to time, I've enjoyed reading your posts. I hope you dont get too wrapped up with your studies that you lose sight of life. I made that mistake when I was in school and listened to the professors instead of those in the workforce only to learn after graduation that in the real world someone in India with a more advanced degree will do the job for less. Quickly learned that academia cant teach talent and that a library card could provide the same education for much less.
