Scallop movmement

Can a Scallop move any direction it wants? Mine seems to be backed into a corner and I was just curious if it liked it there, or if it was stuck.

unless he is wedged in there (like really stuck) he will be able to get out. They are strong suckers! They also prefer to be in the back of the tank or hidden under your rockwork so unfortunately it kinda kills the whole point of having one.
I had mine for about a year until I got a mantis which killed the scallop and my crocea.
Here he was...
Good Luck, they are beautiful animals! they do have a terrible success rate in the home aquarium though.

Very nice specimen. Sucks though. I had one for a while until my little 4 year old cousin threw trash in there while i was gone for my fall break, ( i live in Clarksville, TN ) and the water got brown and stuff, and i had to change the water quickly, and it was cold.
I thought it was going to do fine.... until I realized that it had paper towel inside of its mantle, and i couldn't get it out without it closing up. Then it died. :(

Meowzer, the scallop can put out little threads to anchor itself to the rock work from the inside of its body.
I wouldn't advise you to remove from its spot because it can tear its insides... Good luck.
