I've been in this hobby for over three years, and I have never heard of anything that needs to be feed every 5 hours.
Sorry to say someone told you wrong, and you have potientally overfeed your tank, which can cause you other problems. Fish will eat whenever you put food in the tank. So you will think, They must have been hungry. But they aren't. They will poop a lot more. which will put more waste in your water. Just feed the fish in the evening after you eat. That is all you need to worry about. If the fish get hungry in the meantime they will find something in the tank to eat. (alge, copods etc.)
Important: I suggest you test your water. Make sure your nitrates haven't shot up. They shouldn't be above 10 but you may slide be with 20. depending what all you have in the tank, filtration. so on. If your nitrate are above 10, do a 10% water change. and Keep checking every three or four days. If your carbon is over a month old, change that as well.
Lastly make sure you have plenty of flow. If you don't have good enough flow, and your nitrates are up, you could be facing a Red Slime outbreak. and that is a major pain to get rid of.
