I think chromis need a really big tank for them to "school." I had 3 in a 29 and they pretty much ignored eachother.

I added my three chromis (blue-green, cheap and hardy) at the same time and they school in my 55. Don't know if adding them at the same time helps?
But I have had good luck w/mine schooling

i have 3(blue greenchromis) in my 55 for the past year and they do school...unfortunately one is a little bigger than the other two and don't know if this will lead to problems later on....the wife loves her smurfs..i mean chromis

i had 5 Chromis in my 55. they ignored each other, then were eaten by my eel.
they really just stayed hidden the whole time. they were either up in my rockwork or close to the top behind pipes. i think they were scared of the eel. i don't know why? i guess they felt their time was coming. the eel is gone now, and my tank is happy
