Scissortail Dartfish and sand bed

i saw one in th elfs today and they are beautiful and i checked and it said tht it burrows.. it requires a sand bed.. i hae a sand bed but its about 1 inch.. i have a watchman and i have sand tht is finer then other sands for the sand sifters.. is this addequette for one?

my lfs has one right now for 21.99, and he's been in there for about a month or so with absolutly no sand bed at all, and he's doin just fine, so i'd say 1 inch would be fine.
