I am thinking of upgrading my light from a Tek 6–39w T5-HO to Outer Orbit 2–250w HQI, 4–39w T5-HO
Now if I do, will these get scorched?

.... start the new light off at 12inches above the tank... if you notice stuff immediately freaks out... go to 16inches above and slowly lower it 2 inches per week.

I'd just put the light the height you want and use screen and eggcrate. Do eggcrate and 2 layers of fiberglass screen. Remove one layer of screen a week. Then the eggcrate at last.

I hear what your saying about light acclimation. My thought is in the long run will they bleach out or will they adjust to the elevated light?
