Uhhhggg...I kid you not - I found my RG playing beach volleyball with the bubble algea today! I had loosened all the huge pieces away from the rick to suck up in cleaning. (Must have missed one)
I have scrubbed and pulled and it's not horrible terrible - but I just can't get it to go away!!
I see new little bubblets taking over more rock everyday. Any advice?
Thanks!!

Emerald green crabs have been reported as being bubble algae eaters, though they have also been reported as not being reef safe in some peoples tanks, so a close eye on one if you get one should be in order, and any signs of it attacking Zoo's polyps corals etc, would mean you need to catch it out of there. Personally I've read that the good outweighs the bad if there is bubble algae in a tank, and then take it back when it's cleaned all of it out of the tank.
Goodluck,

The coral-vital that I use to aid the coraline algea growth slows the growth of algae - including bubble algae, but I kind of like them, Is there something dangerous about them?

I dont know about danger, but have you seen them when they have taken over a tank? I dont mind them in very small quantities, but I wouldnt want them to take over the tank which I've read they will (but I have no first hand experience with them taking over the tank because I've never had them). I've seen some photos of tanks that had the bubble algae all over the place, YUCK! Definately YUCK!
