i have a scorpion fish that will only eat if i bring food down to him with a pair of togns. when i got him a month ago everything was going great with him he was eatting at every feeding even searching out food. for the first week. he then got cloudy eyes he was just about blind and could not see the food floating in the tank as a result i started to bring his food to him so he wouldnt starve. when his eyes cleared up i stoped bringing his food to him but he will not go after his food. i let him go a few days then i would give him some food. i increase the amount of time i wait each time today we are at 5 days since i last brought food to him. how long can he go without eating??
i have tried all differant foods mysic, krill, clam, silversides. he is still very active and does not look like he is getting thinner.
thanks for any input

are you sure he didnt go blind? does he react to your face or hand, or the tongs from far away
i'm assuming he was shedding his cuticle when his eyes went cloudy, however- if it was disease -the outcome might have been different.
Try live ghost shrimp to see if he'll be active at all.
--maybe you just made him lazy-- I know i like being hand-fed as well. Sittin on the couch, watchin TV- and the pizza magically shows up on the TV table....NICE

Have you tried the Dominos online ordering? Now ya don't even have to call them up!

he get excited when i feed the rest of the tank he sits up on his tail and kinda waits for me i see him spin around when some food flys by him. when i go in the tank with the rake to scoop out the food he doesnt eat he swims right over and has even tried to take a bite of it (the rake) thinking im giving him food so i bielieve his eyesight is ok . he only like peperoni thin crust with light sauce from dominos
my big concern is how long can he go between feedings? evertime i bring him food i brake the cycle and he wins kinda like the kid

I wouldn't worry quite yet these guys can go weeks at a time without food, they are very similar to lions as far as care and feeding go, try to get ahold of some live ghost shrimp, if he doesn't go for those there is a problem. If he can't see you can still stick feed him. I had one that lost an eye due his previous owner putting him in a trigger tank
I stick fed him because with one eye he had trouble competing for food.
