Scraping Coraline Algae

I've neglected cleaning the coraline algae off the front glass of my tank for a while and now it's kinda taken over and it's hard to see in one one side of the tank :S I have a plastic scraper w/a wooden handle, but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should buy to get the coraline algae off the glass. I'd be interested in any critters that would help, but I'm more intersted in some kind of utensil.
Thanks!

Yes, only on glass, acrylic and a razor would be bad news. I don't know what you'd use on that, maybe try and put more of an edge on you plastic one, or maybe a harder plastic one.
