I have never done it but there are kits for polishing out scratches. Most of them require an empty tank.

SeaClear has good scratch removal stuff. I completely redid a tank that some moron cleaned with a razor blade :scared: It came out like new.

Its not difficult, I have always used Micromesh with good success and have written a great deal about acrylic fabrication on this thread. If it was glass you would be stuck with the scratch, since it acrylic, it can be removed if not too deep. Too deep and you get into pressurization issues. Most scratches I have been able to remove with no noticeable degradation. If you would like detailed instructions email me at phixer@mail.com and I'll explain the process to ya.

I have an acrylic 180 and can not be happier, its clearity beyond glass.
Yea, you get scratches but if your careful you can try
and keep them small, use acrylic wipes for the outside.
