Does anyone here have any experience with removing scratches from glass aquariums? If so, your advice is much appreciated.

hopefully the scratch is not too bad but you can get glass buffing compound at bigger hardware stores like the blue or orange guys but if it's too big you'll probably need to fill it with epoxy or acrylic

Thanks.
I did a little research and the buffing compound is the route I'll try first. It's a pretty small scratch.

I worked at a glass store for quiet a while and the buffing compounds are a waste of money unless the scratch is very minimal. If you can feel and indentation with your finger nail it means that it more than likely will not do anything. Those compounds are made primarily for buff marks. There are professional glass buffers that take scratches out but very pricey and the process takes time here is info about windows but applies to all glass surfaces. I would not use epoxy either. It may just make the scratch more visible IMO.

I have a built in overflow. The scratch isn't that noticeable unless you are up close. It just irks me since the tank was practically brand new when i had to move it.

I think the moving company owes you a new tank if its a big company then they are probably self insured, but otherwise they should have their own insurance and they are liable. You will probably have to argue with them quite a bit, but they do owe you at repair cost and time or replacement.

I know its a old link but i am kinda going through the same thing with a used 180gal tank with 1/2 inch glass i just found the scratch while cleanig it, it is minimal but i can just feel it with my nail, my question will it affect the glass's integrity? is it more likely to break?
